On October 26, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce successfully elected the 53rd Chairman. It is the fifth time for Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group, to be elected as the Chairman of CGCC which has 120-years history.
According to the press issued by CGCC, Dr. Jonathan Choi joined the chamber in 1997, and served successively as director, executive director and vice-chairman. He also served as the 46th and 47t h(from 2008 to 2012) and 50th and 51st (from 2016 to 2020) Chairman, and was awarded the Permanent Hon Chairman of CGCC.
Dr. Choi said that it was a great honor to be reelected as the Chairman of CGCC, which was inseparable from the trust and support of the new Directors. He confirmed that with the support and effort of all directors, he would do his best to promote the conference affairs of CGCC and contribute to the development of commercial economy, and actively implement the expectation of further development in business area by the country and fully support the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in effective governance in accordance with the law, so that to further strengthen the "super-connection" function, and seize new opportunities, helping the business community to better integrate into the "dual circulation" pattern of the country's strategy.
