On March 23, 2026, Feng Fei, Secretary of the Hainan Provincial CPC Committee, met with Dr. Jonathan Choi and his delegation. Dr. Choi is a Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the CPPCC, Director of the Boao Forum for Asia, Chairman of the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, Chairman of the Bohai Rim Entrepreneurs Alliance, and Chairman of Hong Kong Sunwah Group. They came to attend the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2026. Both sides held discussions on promoting cooperation in green and low-carbon development, tourism consumption, digital economy, and other fields.

On the morning of March 22, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Chairman of the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, President of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, Chairman of the Bohai Rim Entrepreneurs Alliance, and Chairman of Hong Kong Sunwah Group, led a delegation to visit the Shenzhen International Quantum Research Institute for an inspection and research. Academician Yu Dapeng, President of the Institute and member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, warmly received the delegation. On March 18, the launch ceremony of the "Guangzhou Connects the Globe · Overseas Chinese Boosting the Economy" Guangzhou-HK-Macau Enterprise Going Global Exchange Conference and the Sunwah China Enterprise Going Global Cooperation Center (Guangzhou) was held at Guangzhou Sunwah Hui International Conference Center. Co-organized by the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, Guangzhou Municipal Office of Overseas Chinese Affairs, Guangzhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Guangzhou Huangpu District Overseas Friendship Association, the event aimed to build a collaborative platform for enterprises to go global, help Bay Area businesses seize overseas opportunities, and deepen economic, trade, and industrial cooperation with Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and beyond.

Dr. Jonathan Choi, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), President of the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, and Chairman of Sunwah Group, held talks in Beijing on March 11 with a delegation led by Mr. Battur, member of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Executive Vice Governor of Hainan Province. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on deepening Hainan-Hong Kong cooperation and advancing project progress.
