The inauguration ceremony of the Hong Kong Yuzhong Friendship Association and its First-Term Council was grandly held at the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel on the evening of September 11, with Jesse Choi assuming office as the Association's founding President.

In his inaugural address, Jesse Choi noted that Hong Kong is Chongqing's primary source of foreign investment, and that the establishment of the Association coincides with a golden era of Hong Kong-Chongqing cooperation. He pledged to leverage ASEAN resources to help Yuzhong go global.

The establishment of the Hong Kong Yuzhong Friendship Association has built a bridge for exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and Yuzhong, and is expected to further deepen economic, trade, and cultural ties between the two places, contributing to their greater development.
