From 12-15 November, Sunwah's Chairman Dr.Jonathan Choi attended a series of events to celebrate 30 years of friendship with Liaoning in Shenyang, and the "Liaoning International Fair on Investment and Trade" . Liaoning Province Party Secretary-General Zhang Guo-qing, Vice-Secretary and Provincial Governor Liu Ning received the Fair's representatives.
Liaoning Province Party Secretary-General Zhang Guo-qing stressed that Liaoning would strengthen business environment, deepen reform and speed up industrialization, target to reach a digital and intelligent province.
On 13 November, Dr.Jonathan Choi as an officiating guest attended the Fair's opening ceremony and signing ceremony.
The year 2020 is Sunwah's 30 years anniversary in Liaoning. For 30 years, Sunwah Group and three generations of the Choi's family had initially started public services in education and then actively established strategic co-operations with the provincial government to develop economic, educational, cultural, technological and foreign exchange services. It had built up a strong friendship, and Liaoning had become the second homeland of Sunwah.
With the support of the provincial United Front Work Bureau and the Liaoning-HK-Macau Office, Sunwah successfully launched a series of celebrating events to commemorate this special occasion.
Sunwah's 30 years in Liaoning Seminar convened in Shenyang
Co-organized with the Liaoning Chamber of Commerce, Sunwah Shenyang office hosted a 30 years review and exchange seminar on the morning of 12 November at the Liaoning Friendship Hotel. More than 100 guests from the political, commercial, educational and cultural sectors attended the seminar.

Dr Jonathan Choi reviewed with hearty feeling and responsibility he took on Liaoning. He expressed that Sunwah would continue to fully utilize its international platform to support the Northeastern University, enhance quality of the Liaoning University Sunwah International Business School, assist Liaoning to establish new interface with the ASEAN countries for investment and trade. He hoped to work with Liaoning to build a modern and stronger country in the next 30 years.
The Liaoning Standing Committee Member and Director of the United Front Work Bureau Fan Ji-ying pointed out that Liaoning had a sound industrial foundation. Currently it strived to enhance its competitive edge and improve its business environment. It opened up great opportunities and potential for investments. He hoped that Sunwah could help promote quality and co-operations in new areas.
Dr.Jonathan Choi as guest speaker at the "Northeastern Revitalization Forum"
On 12 November afternoon, Dr.Choi was invited to speak at the "16th Northeastern Revitalization Forum" co-hosted by the Northeastern University and the China Northeastern Revitalization Research Institute. He spoke on the theme "Guangdong-HK-Macao Greater Bay Area: the driving engine of China to the World" .
As founding chairman of the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union (GBA), Dr.Choi had initiated various co-operation platforms between mainland corporations and the Asia Pacific region. He led delegations to visit Tokyo to promote GBA investments. It attracted more than 1200 senior officials from China and Japan.
30 years anniversary day with the Northeastern University
On 13 November afternoon, the Northeastern University hosted a 30 years celebration day at the Northeastern University Choi Koon Shum Hall.

President of the Northeastern University Professor Zhao Ji presented a calligraphy to Dr.Choi in appreciation of his long-time support to the University.
Dr.Jonathan Choi presented prizes to the awardees of the Northeastern Education Foundation and the Choi Koon Shum Foundation.
The University Party Secretary Professor Xiong Xiao-mei expressed her gratitude to Dr.Choi's support to the university including established education foundations to the School of Engineering, awarded distinguished doctorate students, invited Nobel prize laureates Professor Yang Chen-ning and Professor Qiu Chen-tong to present lectures, purchased updated overseas academic journals, equipped world class piano, established the Jonathan KS Choi Cultural Centre, and signed co-operative agreement for continuous support to lead the University reaching "double top-class" standard university.
Liaoning CPPCC Vice-Chairman Gao Ke, Dr.Jonathan Choi, Northeastern University Party Secretary Professor Xiong Xiao-mei spoke at the Forum. Northeastern University Vice-President Professor Sun Lei hosted the Forum.
A prize presentation ceremony was held for students who had won the prizes of the Foundations established by Dr.Choi. On the evening, a music concert was also held to celebrate the 30th anniversary.
Forum on "Training of international professionals and revival of Liaoning"
On 14 November, Sunwah and the Liaoning University co-hosted a forum on "Training of international professionals and revival of Liaoning" .
The President of the Liaoning University Pan Yi-shan pointed out that since the establishment of the Liaoning University Sunwah International Business School 16 years ago, more than 3000 students graduated. The University would further enhance teaching quality and expand the scale of the School in the next 30 years. He hoped that Dr.Choi could continue to support the University to promote international co-operations and training.
Dr.Choi said that Sunwah had established various cultural centres in the US, Canada, Japan, France, Vietnam and Cambodia. It formed a global young leaders'network which organized students training in various countries. It helped strengthen young people international vision and train new young leaders.
Grand exhibition on Sunwah's 30th years in Liaoning
On 15 November, a grand photo exhibition on "Three generations of the Choi's family: 30 years of Sunwah in Liaoning" was held at the Shenyang Sunwah IFC. The exhibition showcased Sunwah's path in contributions and services to the development of Liaoning in the past 30 years.
