Celebration of the 2nd anniversary of the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union

The Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union (the Union) held an Innovative Economic Forum to celebrate its 2nd anniversary on 19 December in Shenzhen. Sunwah's Chairman and Union Chairman Dr. Jonathan Choi spoke at the Forum. He stressed the political and economic importance of the Greater Bay Area to integrate and set as a model to the national development plan. Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao could leverage the composite advantages of the three places, facilitate in-depth integration within the region, and promote coordinated regional economic development, with a view to developing an international first-class bay area ideal for living, working and travelling.

Since its establishment, the Union had organized various events to promote construction of the Greater Bay Area. In April this year, a Symposium on the Greater Bay Area was held in Tokyo, Japan. The event attracted 700 entrepreneurs from Japan and 500 entrepreneurs from the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Government officials from the three areas and Japanese business leaders attended the Symposium. In addition, the Union had signed co-operation agreement with the Russian small and medium sized corporation's union, and held an economic forum with the Republic of Korea to explore opportunities on new co-operative platforms.

Dr. Jonathan Choi revealed that an international forum would be held next year to involve the Southeast Asian countries. Specialists and entrepreneurs from the US, UK, Europe, Japan Korea, Russia, India would be invited to speak and exchange views of development. Dr. Choi also hosted a round table discussion on "The changing world economy and the Greater Bay Area opportunities".
