The CGCC World Chinese Entrepreneurs Summit was opened on 17 June 2021 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Summit was attended by more than 1,000 local and overseas entrepreneurs in both online and physical presence worldwide which provided a promising platform for participants to gain a better understanding of the new order in the post pandemic era.

With the theme of "Connecting Greater Bay Area Serving Belt & Road", the Summit seeks to explore from a macro perspective the opportunities arising from the Greater Bay Area and the "Belt and Road". Under the new normal of the epidemic and the "Dual Circulation" strategies in Mainland China, the Summit also examine how businesses can further enhance regional cooperation and world economic recovery.

Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of the CGCC World Chinese Entrepreneurs Summit said in his keynote address expressed that more than two-third of the 60 million overseas Chinese in the world were distributed in countries and regions along the Belt and Road. In spite of the severe impact of the pandemic on the global economy and continued geopolitical tensions have presented great challenges to businesses, overseas Chinese could take an important role in enhancing regional co-operation and help promoting world economic recovery. He stressed that Hong Kong,as an international financial center and trade hub, would be able to fulfil its role in connecting the Mainland market with the global business network.
