Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh met with Dr. Jonathan Choi

In the afternoon of August 5, Mr. Pham Binh Minh, Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, met with Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union, Chairman of the Hong Kong-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of Sunwah Group.

Dr. Choi highly appreciated the Vietnamese Government for its support to Sunwah Group over the years. He said that Vietnam is one of countries with the fastest GDP growth in Asia, and investors from Hong Kong and all over the world hoped to do business in Vietnam. Dr. Choi also stressed that Vietnam has great potential in finance, smart city, education, innovation, real estate and agricultural products, and Hong Kong and Vietnam can have more cooperation.

Dr. Choi briefed Mr. Pham Sunwah Group's near-term plans in Vietnam and the luncheon in Ho Chi Minh City to promote cooperation among Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and Vietnam. Hong Kong's leading position as the international finance, technology and logistic center is still solid, meanwhile the development of Hong Kong and GBA will provide numerous cooperation opportunities for Vietnam, according to Dr. Choi. Sunwah Group has been doing business in Vietnam for more than 50 years. Apart from its contribution to Vietnamese education, culture and social services, Sunwah Group is now promoting agriculture and innovation in Vietnam with the support of the Vietnamese Government, and exploring cooperation opportunities with leaders from related ministries and top universities in Vietnam.

DPM Minh introduced the latest achievements in Vietnamese economy and society. He spoke highly of Sunwah's contribution in Vietnam over 50 years and the recent plan to coordinate with different Vietnamese ministries to achieve further and deeper cooperation. He said that innovation and agricultural development are two key fields that Vietnamese Government has put focus on and he hoped to leverage the advantages of Sunwah Group to make further contributions to bilateral exchanges and cooperation. It was believed that Sunwah Group would achieve great success in Vietnam under the leadership of Dr. Choi, and the Vietnamese Government will also make effort to improve its investment environment and create all possible beneficial conditions for Sunwah Group and other investors.

Mrs. Janice Choi, Advisor and Legal Director of Sunwah Group, Mr. Jesse Choi, President of Sunwah Southeast Asia, Ms. Betty Chan, Director of International Relations of Sunwah Group, Ms. Katie Nguyen, Representative of Sunwah Group in Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Janice Le, Representative of Sunwah Group in Hanoi; and representatives from Vietnamese Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment and other departments attended the meeting.
