The 18th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) grandly opened in Macao on November 3, 2025. Hosted by the Macao Chamber of Commerce, the convention carries the theme "Building a Shared Future for Global Chinese Entrepreneurs." More than 4,000 representatives of Chinese entrepreneurs, experts, scholars, and leaders from political and business circles from over 50 countries and regions gathered to explore cooperation opportunities and development prospects amid the new global landscape.

Dr. Jonathan Choi, Standing Committee Member of CPPCC, Chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce(CGCC), the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, the Bohai Rim Entrepreneurs Alliance and Sunwah Group, delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the WCEC conveners—the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the CGCC, and the Thai Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Choi extended congratulations on the opening of the 18th WCEC in Macao and welcomed ethnic Chinese business leaders and distinguished guests from around the world.

Dr. Choi emphasized that the world is currently undergoing profound changes unseen in a century, with the global economic landscape experiencing significant adjustments and technological revolution and industrial transformation accelerating. In the face of a complex and ever-changing international environment, the global community of ethnic Chinese entrepreneurs, with their tenacious entrepreneurial spirit and unique advantages in bridging China and the rest of the world, has become an indispensable force in driving global economic development and promoting international cooperation.

On the same day, Dr. Choi was also invited to deliver a speech at the thematic forum titled "The Future of Greater Bay Area: Collaborative Development in New Quality Productive Forces."
