On the morning of December 14, 2025, Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Middle School held a celebration ceremony for its 71st anniversary. Over 2,000 distinguished guests gathered at the Cai Jiyou Gymnasium to celebrate the occasion, including Dr. Jonathan Choi, Standing Committee Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Union, President of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (Hong Kong), and Permanent Honorary Chairman of the School Board of Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Middle School; Feng Jinyi, Vice Chairman of the Zhongshan CPPCC; as well as other leaders, school board members, alumni, teachers, students, and parents.

Also in attendance were Dr. Jonathan Choi and Johnson Choi Chunsing, Standing Committee Member of the Liaoning Provincial CPPCC, Executive Director of the Sunwah Group, and Chairman of the School Board.

During the ceremony, the Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Middle School Education Development Fund, established with a donation of 10 million yuan by Dr. Jonathan Choi, awarded 500,000 yuan for the first time to outstanding teachers of graduating classes. This initiative demonstrated a firm commitment to educational philanthropy through concrete actions.
