On June 10, 2026, Kazakhstan Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin met in Shenzhen with Dr. Jonathan Choi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, Chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong, and Chairman of Sunwah Group. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening economic and trade cooperation. Kazakhstan expressed its expectation that Dr. Choi would lead more Chinese enterprises to explore the Kazakh market.

On June 11, Dr. Choi attended the Alatau City roadshow in Hong Kong and delivered a welcome speech, introducing investment opportunities in Kazakhstan to Hong Kong entrepreneurs.
