The Prize Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong News Awards was held on 29 April 2013 at the JW Marriot Hotel. Sunwah Group for the 9th year supported the event as a major sponsor in the "Best Scoop" category. Organized by the Newspaper Society of Hong Kong, the News Awards served to advance journalist's professional standards by awarding their outstanding performance. The event was widely recognized as the most influential news award in Hong Kong. 

The winner and first runner-up of the 2012 Best Scoop Award both went to Ming Pao Daily News, the second runner-up went to Sing Tao Daily.
