In order to promote Sino-French cultural, economic exchanges and to cultivate a "Belt and Road" cultural exchange, and to promote the city of Pu'er, on 23 April Sunwah's Chairman Dr. Jonathan Choi who was also chairman of the Yunnan-ASEAN Business Cooperation Committee invited French Ambassador to China Laurent Bili (罗梁) and Counsellor of Culture, Education, and Science Mikael Hautchamp (高明) and their delegation to visit the grand city of Pu'er in Yunnan.

Dr. Choi introduced Sunwah's donation to establish "cultural centres" in France over the years, and to sponsor the French national treasures and art masterpieces roadshow exhibitions in China National Museums. Sunwah also supported the annual Sino-French Festival Croisements for the promotion of cultural and economic exchanges. During the visit, Dr. Choi accompanied Ambassador Laurent and his team to experience the entire production process of Pu'er tea: from tea planting, leaves picking, tea processing, and the art of tea tasting.

Ambassador Laurent expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Choi for his unremitting efforts to promote Sino-French exchanges and cooperation. He said that the Yunnan trip enriched him the diversified strength of Sunwah and felt the warm hospitability of Dr. Choi and his Yunnan team. He looked forward to embark more cooperation and joint promotional projects for mutual exchanges and friendship.
