In 2016, a large holiday resort began construction in the seaside city of Da Nang. Dr. Jonathan Choi serves as head of the project. The Group's Vietnam investment arm VinaCapital teamed up with another celebrated Hong Kong enterprise, Chow Tai Fook Group, to jointly develop the resort. The 900 square-hectare property is estimated to cost USD4 billion, the biggest foreign investment in Vietnam over the years. Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Da Nang is Vietnam's best known port city. It was named one of the 'top six beautiful beaches in the world' by the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization in 2005. The US National Geographic magazine put it on the list of 50 places people must visit, comparable with Hawaii and Maldives. The beach resort will have a 5-star hotel, a shopping center, a golf course and leisure-gaming facilities in addition to a 1,000-room holiday village, hotel and shopping mall complex.
